Weddings can be crazy, fun, intimate and emotional all at the same time. For me, weddings are all about the people, the connection and the love they share. A wedding is not about standing like statues for boring pictures for hours on end, it’s a celebration of a life lived and a life ahead together.
The importance of family and friends and your love for one another is above everything thing else. When I photograph a wedding every person there is important to me. That’s not to say however that we don’t love an alternative wedding theme, beautiful details or something completely off the wall. We’ve had brides and grooms in a skate park, and couples standing in a field of cows.
I have spent a long time developing my style and ability and I truly believe that I can be thrown into any situation and come out the end with an amazing set of images. Some photographers may be afraid of the dark, but I thrive in it, bringing my years of experience in photography into action. Taking images in glorious sunshine in green fields is easy. Producing a high standard of imagery when the sun goes down, that your wedding day deserves, is where I feel I have the edge.

YOUR QUESTIONS
WHAT MAKES A GOOD WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?
Having a good camera does not make you a good photographer, just as having a paint brush does not make you a great artist, it is how you use it and what you create with it. A good wedding photographer will understand the lighting and environment you are in, be able to capture the moment and emotion in one shot, they will be able to compose a beautiful photo, ensuring the focus of the shot is beautifully captured and not ruined by lighting or unsightly things in the background.
SHOULD MY WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER BE INSURED?
Yes, they should have liability insurance of which many venues will insist your photographer has. Liability insurance covers the photographer if they trip and fall, or if they knock into a guest with their camera for example. Ask your photographer about this but do not worry too much about it.
How long in advance do we need to book?
I fill up fast with bookings, so I strongly recommend you book as soon as you have your date set or at least let us know of your date.
Will I own the rights to all the photos?
You will be given a license to do anything you want with the photographs except to sell them (but I’ve never found anyone who wanted to sell their wedding photos yet). To be clear, you may print them, copy the disk for friends and family, upload them to facebook and so on. Anything except sell them. So, you do not own the copyright, but there’s virtually no restrictions.
